As air passes through the VK 102, it goes through a 2-stage process to achieve the best results, purification and sterilisation.
The pre-filter, HEPA filter and activated carbon filter take care of larger particles like dust, pollen, smoke and some VOC’s, this is where most “air purifiers” end.
Mechanical filters are limited to what they can trap and what gets through the filters in Radic8 systems is then dealt with in the reactor chamber, this includes viruses.
The patented sterilisation chamber uses a process called photocatalytic oxidation and is designed in such a way that maximises ultraviolet radiation and oxidation to give unparalleled results.

The VK 102 has the same mechanical filters as the VK 002 but as it is covering a lot more space there is a more powerful sirocco fan and a sterilisation module that is approximately twice the size. When larger spaces require air purification and sterilisation it is a lot more cost-effective and environmentally friendly to operate bigger units as opposed to multiple smaller units and this is the reasoning behind this larger model.

Installation of the VK 102
This is a plug and play unit and does not require specialized installation, however correct positioning in the space will optimise effectiveness. The unit must be positioned in such a way that it is able to pull contaminated air away from the breathing zone in the room and push clean air back out into the breathing zone.
Ideally, airflow from doors, windows or air conditioning units should assist with the unit’s airflow, not go against it.
Negative Pressure System
The VK 102 can be adapted into a negative pressure system by installing separate ducting. The air going through the unit will be sterilized in a single air pass and released outside of the room, creating negative pressure.
Maintenance of the VK 102
Regular cleaning of the pre-filter is important to keep the unit working at optimum performance. Simply remove the filter tray and vacuum the pre-filter every week. If needed, the pre-filter can also be washed with warm water. Please allow it to dry completely before placing it back into the unit
